Ungweru during the coming year 2009 will:

  1. Expand the donor base for Ungweru.  At present Ungweru is
    very dependent on a small number of donors
  2. Promote a volunteering spirit both among Malawians and
    Irish and other good wishers
  3. Establish a Financial Management System which will cater
    for an expanded Ungweru
  4. Establish a credible Monitoring and Evaluation system
    among the CBOs Ungweru supports
  5. Begin the building of new offices for Ungweru
  6. Continue to develop the mzuzu.org project
  7. Establish formal examinations with a recognised
    Examining Body  for Lusekelo School of Computing
  8. Expand the training programs for youth
  9. Expand Ungweru Information Centre, internet, library ..
  10. Continue to encourage and support the various CBOs
    (Community Based Organisations) within the Luwinga and
    Dunduzu areas
  11. Endeavour to make Temwanani CDCC (Child Day Care
    Centre) self supporting with an autonomous local
    committee fully operational and fully responsible
  12. Update Ungweru documents like Ungweru Constitution and
    Conditions of Service
  13. Register Ungweru as an NGO
  14. Set up a proper system (preferably electronic where
    possible) for the storage of all Ungweru files and
    documents
  15. Improve conditions of service for permanent employees
  16. Build capacity among community volunteers and staff
  17. Introduce Sustainable Livelihood Interventions Project
    (SLIP) in CBOs supported by Ungweru --to build and
    strengthen the capacity of CBOs which directly assist
    HIV/AIDS affected households in food and income
  18. Start the process of procuring a vehicle for Ungweru
  19. Begin the programme of promoting care, health and respect
    for animals
